June 2024 news letter
Sunset Road Family Doctors join Green Cross Health Medical Group
Dear Patients,
This letter is to inform you Sunset Road Family Doctors have joined Green Cross Health Group. Our wonderful team will remain the same and continue to assist you in any way that we can.
Making the decision to sell the practice was not easy for specialist GP Dr Patti Piper, having worked at Sunset Road Family Doctors for 34 years, after co-founding the practice in 1990.
Dr Patti Piper wanted to share some personal words with you about her decision:
“I want to sincerely thank all my patients, some of whom have been with me since the early 1990’s. I will miss you all. It’s hard to let go but I wanted to prepare the practice for the future and with a new owner that is well able to take good care of my wonderful staff and patients alike. For a smooth transition I will continue to be part of the team until next March. I hope you all continue to support the practice I am so proud of into the future.”
Here at the practice, we remain committed to care for you and your family, our team consists of seven General Practitioners, one Nurse Practitioner, four Registered Nurses, one Health Improvement Practitioner, four administration staff and a Practice Manager.
Overseen by Dr Michelle Kweon lead GP at Sunset, Dr Kweon has been with the practice for over 5 years. Dr Kweon has a surgical and urgent care background and supervises the teaching of GP trainee doctors at the practice.
Registered Nurse Rachael Afu lead nurse has been at Sunset for over four years and has significant surgical, medical palliative care experience and brings to the practice a strong management base.
Wayne Woolrich, General Manager Medical at Green Cross Health wanted to share these comments with you about their decision to invest in the practice:
“We’re in a unique phase of growth and we’re excited to have Sunset Road Family Doctors with its incredible talent join our network. Patti and Kirsten and the team at Sunset Road have been great to work with through this time and we look forward to supporting them going forward. For the most part, as a patient you won’t notice there has been a change of ownership as the same team will be there continuing to support you when you come to visit.”
We are excited about what the future holds for our practice and support the change in ownership. Rest assured nothing much is changing around here. We look forward to continuing to support you and your family’s health needs. If you have any questions about the change in ownership, do let us know, we’re happy to talk about it.
Warm regards
Dr Patti Piper and the team at Sunset Road Family Doctors
