DOCTORS
DR PATTI PIPER
Dr Patti Piper is an Auckland graduate and a Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners with over 20 years experience in general practice. She enjoys every aspect of family medicine from the care of new born babies to the elderly. Patti has a special interest in Skin cancer surgery. She holds a Diploma in Dermoscopy (Skin cancer diagnosis) and a Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine. She has two lovely grown up children, Maddy and Harry, and when not working will be in her garden, out with friends, at the movies or doing something arty.
DR HEATHER MURRAY
Dr Heather Murray is an Auckland graduate who joined us near the end of 2015 after returning to work from maternity leave. She has recently received her fellowship of the College of General Practitioners and has a Diploma in Child Health (Paediatrics). Heather has two young children who she enjoys spending time with in some of the many available community activities when not at work.
DR MEG THOMSON
Dr Meg Thomson trained in the UK and graduated in 1999. She moved to New Zealand in 2007 with her Kiwi husband. She has worked in Auckland in both General Practice and Accident and Medical Clinics. She is a Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (FRNZCGP) and has diplomas in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and in Sexual and Reproductive Health. She enjoys all aspects of General Practise and has a particular interest in women's health, children and palliative care. She lives locally and, outside of work, you might find her out and about with her young daughter.
DR MICHELLE KWEON
Dr Michelle Kweon lead GP at Sunset, Dr Kweon has been with the practice for over 5 years. Dr Kweon has a surgical and urgent care background and supervises the teaching of GP trainee doctors at the practice. When not working, is a busy mum of 2 boys.
DR MICHELLE TAN
Dr Michelle Tan is originally from Malaysia and graduated from the University of Auckland. She joined Sunset Road Family Doctors at the end of 2021, and she is currently working towards gaining fellowship. Michelle enjoys all aspects of GP work. At home, she spends most of her time with her toddler. (Currently on Maternity leave)
NURSE PRACTITIONER
NP ELLE DAGLEY
Nurse Practitioner Elle Dagley is a graduate of Auckland University with a Master of Nursing. She has worked predominently in general practices across the greater Auckland region, holds a diploma in long term condition management and will complete a diploma in child health in early 2024. Her passion for education and empowering self-care are a perfect fit for general practice. When not at work, Elle enjoys time with her family and friends, gardening and outdoor activities.
NURSES
RACHAEL
Rachael has been working in a variety of nursing areas including surgical, medical, palliative care and management roles. She enjoys all aspect of general practice. When not working, Rachael spends time with family.
LIZ
Liz trained and worked in Wellington before moving to Auckland in 2006. Her experience ranges from obstetrics to care for the elderly, with the last 20 years working in Primary health care i.e. GP Practice and Accident and Medical. Liz enjoys working with the supportive team at Sunset Road and values the relationships that can be built with patients at the practice.
MARY
Mary graduated in 2018 from the University of Auckland, completed postgraduate studies in Mental Health & Addictions, and specialised in mental health for older adults before moving to Sunset Road Family Doctors. She loves working with a variety of age groups and learning new things at the practice every day. When not at work, she likes to spend time with her partner and her pet cat.
ROMINA
Romina completed her BHSc/BNurs in 2022 at AUT, she has always wanted to work within the community and in primary health care which is why she decided to start her nursing journey at Sunset Road Family Doctors. Romina is passionate about creating a safe and supportive environment for her patients. In her spare time, she loves going to the beach for a swim, going on hikes with her family dog, taking road trips and exploring new places.
RECEPTIONISTS
KELLY
Kelly has worked in Primary Care as a Receptionist and a Clinical Assistant for over 20 years both in the UK and NZ. Kelly is focused not only on ensuring the patients have a good experience when attending the clinic but also the Sunset Team have a great day too. When not at work Kelly enjoys gardening, beach days and dining out.
STEPHANIE
Stephanie is currently studying at The University of Auckland while working part time at our practice. She can speak mandarin, cantonese and samoan. If she is not working or studying, she will be out on adventures with her dog.
HELEN
Helen is a highly experienced receptionist; she has been in this field for 12+ years working at varies practices, Sunset being her favourite, she’s here to stay and loves the team she works in. Helen enjoys spending her free time with her husband and two teenage sons, her favourite sport is soccer (but she is a pom, so it’s footie) Helen plays 7-a-side with a mixed team in the summer - she absolutely loves it.
PRACTICE MANAGER
KIRSTEN
Kirsten joined the Sunset team in late 2016 working on reception and completing her PMAANZ Practice Management papers. In 2021 Kirsten became acting Practice Manager and has now taken over the role permanently. Kirsten enjoys the variety that Practice Management offers. Outside of work, Kirsten enjoys spending time with her two beautiful children.
